How can we involve the whole New England Region in building a sustainable future?

  • Build and ensure community ownership to ensure political commitment (especially Indigenous and CALD groups)

What practical steps or projects can be undertaken to do that?

  • Build specific information to target the groups in the NE Region
  • Sharing ideas and lessons learnt from groups to develop socially cohesive NE Region
  • Build social capacity (2 way education, learn about others)
  • Register of skills across groups
  • Disseminate outcomes from Public Forum
      • Find out who is in the NE Region (target groups)
      • Identify what issues are important to who (Build matrix from interviews with the groups)
      • Identify the leaders in the groups
  • Identify future growth in sustainable industries, relates to employment and training
  • Build awareness through media, promotion (eg www.melloway.com)
  • Business and community drive process to identify direction
